With
a record number of entries in both North West in Bloom and the Neighbourhood
Awards the 2009 campaign was a resounding success, and I feel this highlights
how communities working independently or in partnership with Housing Associations,
Local Authorities, and Volunteer Groups can not only improve their own
areas but the North West as a whole. And, therefore, I am sure that the
campaign kindles community spirit, encourages investment tourism, and
business relocation to the North West.
Under the present economic
climate it is very difficult to predict the number of entries for 2010
but, I am quietly confident that the benefits from entering the campaign
along with the community spirit in the North West that present numbers
of entries can be maintained.
As Chairman of North West in
Bloom I would like to thank all the entrants for the splendid work being
carried in the North West. Our panel of judges for all the advice given
to entrants. And, a special thank you to all our Sponsors for their continued
support.
